Landscapes
I want to explore this idea of using found objects and going with first intuition of what they look like and how I can manipulate that. I don't know how long this will sustain my interest but I want to look at creating landscapes....something that looks like it may reflect a landscape...but is actually just a jumble juxtaposition of materials, marks and colour.
I want to look at different artists interpretation of landscape. This fits in fairly well with visual research I have been doing on painter, Matthew Couper. Often he is creating imagery set against landscapes. I like his rolling hills, deep greens and brown.....colours I can look at as I usually use very bright almost unnatural colour.
Also this post can let you know of a new show I have coming up, hopefully showcasing some of these ideas in works of contemporary jewellery. I will also have 1 photographic image on show and that is set against an almost abstract landscape, an accident of light leak against film.
I would like to do a big thanks! Shout out to Peoples Coffee and LaBocaLoca for coffee and food sponsorship on the night! Yay! This is a Wellington show and will be a lot of fun to attend, so please come along.
