I want to look closely at these 3 artists.  I am drawn to these artists and I want to find the common thread that I am so interested in. I want to find what it is that I am drawn to and how I can pull this into my own work.

New Work

I have made some new work.  I think it is slowly getting somewhere but I really feel it lacks context.  It has a material context, but I am worried that beyond that the work is lacking something.
I feel the work has a visual grip but it hasn't been pushed through any ideas.  I feel like I have a lot of research to do and will continue to make these pieces which I feel are sketches.

www.mydancetheskull.com........Website based in the UK for underground music and arts.  Looked at this site for inspiration in experimental music and also for the zine collection it links to.

http://liyenchong.com/collective.html   Auckland based artist who uses traditional hair embroidery techniques to make contemporary images.  I looked at her because I was interested in the amazing technical skill.

http://www.troelscarlsen.com/installations.html   Amazing artist.  I love this work because it is installation, objects, paintings and drawings.  He has ideas that he is constantly working through but in new ways.  I love his gothic painterly work and the antique works he projects onto, the anatomical aspect and the socio-political statements he is making.

http://wendytai.com/portfolio_current.htm  I was looking at this work for the conceptual elements.  I liked the ideas and also the work visually was very strong.  I also like to file away artists with Bio's that I think were well written.  I like this site a lot.  It is really clear and easy to use.
